Ohio Skydiving
Skydiving, or sport parachuting, is an exciting sport for people of all ages and Ohio offers some of the best skydiving in the nation. Whether it is your first time or one hundred and first skydiving adventure, there is always something new to experience.

Training
Most Ohio skydivers make their first jump with a trained and experienced instructor. The trained instructor, or jumpmaster, will take care of the exit, position, and control and landing of the parachute. In addition to the primary parachute, Ohio skydivers are required to carry a second parachute that is inspected by a FAA certified parachute rigger. In addition, skydivers carry an automatic activation device that opens the second parachute in the event that the main parachute is not opened.

Advanced Techniques
More advanced skydivers in Ohio may be interested in different disciplines of skydiving such as freeflying, skysurfing, tandem skydiving, blade running, or accuracy landing. Many of these techniques can be practiced in vertical wind tunnels.

Locations
Ohio Skydiving begins at an airport known as the "drop zone." The group of skydivers boards an aircraft and is taken to an altitude of approximately 13,000 feet.
