Ohio Skydiving Training
Most Ohio skydivers make their first jump with a trained and experienced instructor. The trained instructor, or jumpmaster, will take care of the exit, position, and control and landing of the parachute. In addition to the primary parachute, Ohio skydivers are required to carry a second parachute that is inspected by a FAA certified parachute rigger. In addition, skydivers carry an automatic activation device that opens the second parachute in the event that the main parachute is not opened.

Before You Jump
Ohio Skydiving training can be done before your first skydive. Vertical wind tunnels allow skydivers to practice the necessary free fall skills.  This is known as indoor skydiving, or bodyflight. Another training method is through the use of virtual reality. With virtual reality skydiving, simulators are used to practice control techniques before you jump. Beginning skydivers can start with tandem skydiving, instructor assisted deployment, accelerated freefall, or static line skydiving.

If this is your first time skydiving
Beginning skydivers will benefit from a tandem jump. After your initial insturctions, you will skydive with a FAA certified tandem instructor that will take care of the control of the jump and landing.
